1  Summary

hOEM collects almost nothing.

There is one exception, and it is the important part of this document: if you choose to hum, that recording is sent to us and added to a single sound made from many people's humming. Section 4 says exactly what happens to it.

An account is created only when you subscribe. It holds who you are and whether your subscription is active. Nothing else.

hOEM contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and no third-party software kits other than those described in section 7.

2  What Stays On Your Phone

The following are stored in hOEM's private folder on your device and are not uploaded:

• how far you had walked
• which world you chose
• any settings you have adjusted
• your own copy of anything you have hummed

No other app can read them. Deleting hOEM deletes all of it permanently.

3  The Camera

hOEM asks for camera access so that your reflection appears in the water of the mirror.

Nothing is kept. The camera image is drawn to the screen and discarded frame by frame, the way a looking glass holds nothing after you walk away from it. It is not recorded, not saved, and never leaves your phone — not to us, not to anyone. The app contains no capability to save a photograph or a video from the camera at all.

If you decline camera access, the mirror still works, without a reflection.

4  The Microphone And Your Humming

This is the only part of hOEM that sends anything you have made away from your phone, so it is set out in full.

WHAT HAPPENS

hOEM asks for microphone access so that you can hum. Nothing is recorded until you hold the control and begin, and recording stops the moment you let go. The app does not listen at any other time.

When you have hummed, a copy stays on your phone and a copy is sent to us.

WHAT WE DO WITH IT

Your recording is mixed into one continuous sound built from many people's humming. That combined sound is what other people hear. It is not a library of recordings anyone can browse, and no one is played your voice on its own.

WHAT IT IS STORED WITH

Your recording is stored against your account identifier, so that you can ask for it to be removed. It is not published with your name, and nothing in the app shows other people who hummed.

WITHDRAWING IT

Write to us and we will delete your recording. If it has already been mixed into the combined sound, we will remove it from the mix the next time that sound is rebuilt, and we will tell you when that has happened.

What we cannot do is reach into a copy of the combined sound that has already been played to someone. Once many voices are mixed together, no individual voice can be pulled back out of it.

IF YOU DECLINE

If you decline microphone access, the rest of hOEM works and nothing is recorded or sent.

5  Your Account

An account is created at the point of purchase and not before. You can take the walk and reach the choice of worlds without one.

HOW IT IS CREATED

Accounts are created with Sign in with Apple. Apple confirms who you are and gives us an identifier. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we receive a relay address and never your real one.

WHAT WE STORE

• the identifier Apple gives us
• your name and email address, if Apple provides them and you allow it
• whether your subscription is active, which product it is, and when it expires
• the date the account was created

WHAT WE DO NOT STORE

We do not receive or store card numbers, billing addresses or any payment details. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. Subscription status reaches us from Apple's servers.

WHERE IT IS STORED

Account records and humming recordings are held by Supabase, which provides our database and file storage, on servers in the United States. Supabase processes this data on our instructions and does not use it for its own purposes.

6. WHEN hOEM CONNECTS TO THE INTERNET

a) SIGNING IN AND SUBSCRIBING. Sign in with Apple contacts Apple. Purchases and subscription status are handled by Apple. Your account record is read from and written to Supabase.

b) HUMMING. Your recording is uploaded, and the combined sound is downloaded so you can hear it.

That is all. The mirror makes no network requests of any kind. If you do not subscribe and do not hum, hOEM makes none either.

7  Who Else Is Involved

• APPLE — sign-in, payment and subscription status. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
• SUPABASE — our database and file storage provider, holding the account records in section 5 and the recordings in section 4.

There are no others. We do not use analytics, advertising networks or tracking of any kind, and we do not sell or share personal information.

8  How Long We Keep It

Account records are kept while your account exists. If you delete your account we remove the record within 30 days, except where we must keep a transaction record for tax or accounting purposes.

Deleting your account also deletes the recordings held against it, on the same terms as section 4.

Nothing from the camera is ever kept, so there is nothing of it to delete.

9  Your Rights

You can:

• see what your account holds, by asking us
• correct it
• export it
• have a recording deleted, as set out in section 4
• delete your account, from within the app, which deletes the record we hold
• delete everything on your device by deleting hOEM

Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. To exercise any of them, write to hello@comehoem.com. We respond within 2 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account settings.

10  Children

hOEM is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly create accounts for them or keep recordings from them. If you believe a child has an account with us, write to us and we will remove it.

11  Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change. Where a change affects what leaves your phone, we will tell you inside the app before it takes effect.
